Iceland’s parliament for accession talks with the EU

Yesterday, after a week of difficult negotiations and discussions, the majority of members of the Icelandic Parliament voted in favour of Iceland’s accession to the European Union.

Iceland will now start talks with the EU regarding its membership in the Integration that are expected to take up to three and a half years. One of the most difficult areas of negotiation is expected to be fisheries.
