    If Maja from Belgrade wants to visit an art exhibition in Budapest, if Dejan from Skopje wants to book a low-cost flight for his New Year’s visit to Berlin or if Milica from Podgorica wants to attend a youth camp in Sweden, they can all finally do it from the 19th of December 2009 onwards freely, without a long, expensive and uncertain procedure of applying for a Schengen visa.

  • December 2009 – Less Talk and more Action for a World beyond Carbon

    The Young European Federalists (JEF-Europe) welcome the UN Copenhagen talks on Climate Change, which were solemnly opened last week. Nonetheless, talks are not enough and JEF-Europe demands a bold, binding and long-term environmental deal because climate change is not only a global threat to human, economic and social rights but also risks to put at stake the stability of democratic regimes through conflict over scarce resources and mass migration.

  • November 2009 – Federalists call for a consensual and discreet Chair of the European Council

    On the eve of the European summit in Brussels which will decide on the name of the first so-called “President” of the European Council with a term of two-and-a-half years, the Young European Federalists (JEF-Europe) regret the lack of transparency and the undemocratic character of the so-called “election” process but insist on the appointment of a candidate with a pro-integrationist profile.

  • November 2009 – One European wall down, many more to go!

    By building and tearing down mock walls and Checkpoints Charlie at main squares of more than 30 European cities, the Young European Federalists (JEF) yesterday celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin wall, and called for the unification of the European continent through the abolishment of visas for all Europeans, and the further enlargement of the European Union.
