Esther Pedro

Esther Pedro (20) is a BA student at University College Dublin (UCD), studying English Literature with Information & Communication Studies. Her degree and interest in journalism led her to join Project Newsroom Europe 2026. Prior to this, she was a contributing writer to The University Observer, one of UCD’s newspapers. Besides journalism, she also has an interest in creative publishing and worked as an Editorial Assistant Intern for the second issue of Bia!Zine, an Ireland-based print publication. Currently, she is on Erasmus in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany.

On the wider world stage, Europe appears slow and divided in decision-making. These dangerous shortcomings could lead to a fragmented and weakened future if they remain unresolved. Our answer is clear: We need a united, decisive Europe.
