In Brussels activists and British MEP Andrew Duff demonstrated outside the European Parliament with masks of major political figures who appeared to be sleeping. At the same time MEP Libor Rouček joined the action in Prague (Czech Republic), while MEP Karl von Wogau participated in the action in Freiburg (Germany).
Our action took place even across the Atlantic in New York City [Times Square] with our friends from the World Federalist Movement.

JEF-Europe President Samuele Pii stated:
“Enthusiasm, ideas and commitment are the elements of this success. The enthusiasm showed by our activists and by many other young Europeans that joined us in this action also in cities where we don’t have a section give a clear sign that our network is enlarging.”
“The ideas of the JEF manifesto are close to young people’s concerns and should be debated by everyone at every level.”
“We are committed to play a role in the European Parliament Election campaign by proposing a vision for a federal Europe and fight against nationalist forces. JEF will fight the new populist wave against Europe advertised by Mr. Ganley and friends with their Libertas toy.”
JEF-Europe Vice President Toni Giugliano commented:
“This successful action is only the beginning of a six month campaign to get as many candidates to the European Parliament on our side and support our common initiatives stated in the JEF Manifesto.”
“We encourage the candidates to the EP elections to take into account these proposals and not to ignore the voice of young people as is often the case.”
“European youth has spoken out for CHANGE in more than 80 cities across the continent. That cannot be ignored.”
