<p>But a person could point out that a clear majority when presented with a simple choice of remain or leave the EU voted to leave.</p>
<p>83% of MPs were elected in 2017 on manifestos supporting leave the EU.</p>
<p>A vast majority of MPs voted for Article 50 (which implicitly means potentially leaving the EU without a deal).</p>
<p>A proportion of MPs have been trying to prevent Brexit regardless of the votes that have taken.</p>
<p>It seems to me that Remain MPs have long since given up caring about the public vote or their manifesto pledges. The question is « If a representative democracy actively stops representing it's constituents, is it still a democracy ? »</p>
