Why “hard” Brexit is probably happening

For both domestic and international reasons, a “soft” Brexit ensuring continued access to the Single Market for UK goods, services, capitals and people is becoming increasingly unlikely. Instead, a significantly decreased access to the Single Market - a “hard” Brexit in some form or another – is likely to emerge from the article 50 negotiations.

We are the 48%

The 24th June will go down in history as the first time European integration reversed. Integration has slowed down and even came to a halt, but it has never been reversed. “Brexit is Brexit,” has said Theresa May said of the referendum results, but the question everyone is asking themselves is: “is it really fair that a meagre win of the 52 % should dictate the future of the 48 % after a campaign that was solely based on lies from the Leave-campaign?”

No to the second EU Referendum? Then let England, Wales and Scotland run separate ones within the UK, ALTOGETHER!

The United Kingdom is not only very unique EU member state, which has own international currency but it is also de facto the union within the union. Especially after adoption of Scotland Act 2016 [1] and the upcoming Wales Bill 2016-2017 [2], Scotland and Wales have a higher degree of sovereignty than any state in the Federal Republic of Germany, and high enough to run their own referendums on EU membership.

The European Dream can “boldly go, where no one has gone before”!

In recent days, the astronomers discovered the first exoplanet in the habitable zone, located in Proxima Centauri star system, and this coming September, sci-fi fans celebrate the 50th anniversary of popular franchise “Star Trek”. The creation of this very popular television series was inspired by Soviet/Russian flight of the first spacecraft Sputnik and the first moonwalk by American Neil Armstrong in the 1950s and the 1960s. But no one is aware that Europe was actually a true space pioneer.

Diary of a British girl living in Spain after the Brexit

Thursday night I was unable to fall asleep, I lay awake watching in disbelief as my compatriots voted to leave the European Union. The next morning I woke to find thousand messages of WhatsApp and Facebook from my family and friends, conversations which just showed the shock we were all going through. No one could believe what was happening, but could it all just be a joke? Since then I have been feeling as if I was breaking up with my boyfriend, I have been feeling confused, sad and angry and I have been checking my phone every 20 minutes in case there are news or some error has been discovered, I have been having false hopes which eventually do not come true. In reality, this feeling is worse than what you feel when going through a break up, because it affects all of us as we are now living on the edge, knowing that we are going to break up with each other, but neither knowing when or how it is going to happen, nor what life will be like afterwards.
